The Shocks or Struts on your Mitsubishi vehicle are responsible for the smoothing spring movement that helps manage oscillation as you drive down the road. When you hit a bump in the road, the shocks and struts come into action to decrease the impact that you feel inside the cabin. Shocks and Struts are also what allows your tires to remain in contact with the road as you drive. Even though these two parts do the same thing for your vehicle, they are very different parts that cannot be replaced interchangeably because the strut is a structural component of the steering and suspension system and the shock is not.
